GOVERNMENT has warned anyone issuing threats against newly-recruited teachers currently being deployed in various districts across the country of stern action because the selection process was highly transparent.
Acting Minister of Education Frank Tayali said threats on teachers, who successfully passed the selection process, are unwarranted and are only promoting disunity.
Mr Tayali said the recruitment of teachers focused on degree holders with specific skills, which most local applicants did not have.
“We shall not take kindly to anybody issuing threats to those that have been transparently recruited based on their competences,” he said. “We looked at those with sciences, mathematic, computer studies and related STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics)
