PALABANA Dairy Cooperative Society recorded a gross income revenue of over K20 million in the year 2023. ZANIS reports that speaking during the 2023 annual general meeting in Chongwe, cooperative chairperson Pamela Ndhlovu disclosed that gross revenues increased by six percent from 2022 to 2023.
Ms Ndhlovu stated that the cooperative is pleased with the resilience exhibited by members, which contributed towards its performance last year.
She also commended various stakeholders for supporting the growth and sustainability of the cooperative in 2023.
Ms Ndhlovu cited the grant awarded to the cooperative by United States African Development Foundation (USADF).
She said K214,000 has since been accessed under the first phase of the grant allocation.
“We need to continue managing the funds prudently so that we are given more funds in the next phase,” Ms Ndhlovu said.
She said the cooperative will continue pursuing its diversification strategy to further enhance milk production at its centre.
